The Ironman race... 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run. A ridiculous feat of preparation, endurance, and mental toughness. To not only finish, but to be a 3 time North American champion and shatter numerous course records around the world is on a different level. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Matt Hanson who accomplished just that, and asked him all about what that’s like at that magnitude. I was always a big fan of triathlons growing up, and this episode I had a lot of questions and desired insight into the mind of someone who has competed at that level. From bike crashes to shitting yourself, we get into what it really takes to push yourself way past what you thought was possible.
